On Boston weekend I feel dumb talking about a teensy 5k but I will anyway! Went really well, it was perfect weather but the course was hilly and perhaps a little long so I am very proud of my time. There was no male competition there so I was only about 15 seconds away from winning it all! I really wanted it but couldn't catch the two guys in front of me.

My splits were something crazy, like 6:16, 6:15, 5:56, and then my watch said I ran 3.17. Another woman's said about 3.2 as well. So I don't really know what happened, but I would be shocked if that last split was right. I did feel like I ran hard but that looks pretty impossible.

This is the first race in a while where I was completely out of breath the whole time... which I am taking as a positive because it means I pushed myself hard. I knew I'd be close to a PR and raced the clock at the finish to no avail.

I am especially happy also because I worked out hard this week and it looks like it didn't hurt my race much.

Oh, and I won a plant. Sweet!

HOLY SMOKING FAST KELSEY!!!! Great race, congrats on the plant! I can not believe that there could be hills and you can still book it like that. AND I am sure that split is right, you are speedy!

Now, in all seriousness here, you have earned at least a 1/2 gallon of your favorite ice cream!

Kelsey, you are a 5k machine! As always, you are awesome!

WOW! You are a racing machine! Way to take out all of the women and virtually ALL of the men! You PINKED the pack!

Way to go! I agree with Kelli, that's worth at least a bucket of ice cream.

Thanks everyone :)

As much as I would like to eat a bucket of ice cream, I am not allowing myself to buy any until my Easter candy is gone. Because otherwise I'd eat both in large quantities. But I already have my next flavor picked out :)

Marion, Just so you know I do not race in any shorts but my pink ones. I had to through in some laundry just to get them clean for the race. And I wore red shoes too, so I was totally red hot pink!

The pink is what makes you fast!

Okay, enjoy the candy! See, i have to have the biggest ice cream the day before a race (it was my LUNCH on Friday). And, since I got a PR, I treated myself to another one! Mounds flavored frozen yogurt covered in coconut and a ton of brownie pieces. The place I go lets you make it yourself and then you pay for it by the ounce. I love to see how much I ca make it cost!

Nice job.

Did second and third place receive lesser plants?
