Instead of doing an easy recovery run I am stuck nursing a very swollen left knee. It has 2 weeks to get itself under control... although obviously I would like to run a few more times before my race.

Feeling a little uneasy about it as it feels even worse today :(   It is currently impossible to run, and barely possible to walk.

Welcome to the injured knee club. At least you got in all the miles that you need. Now you are in a forced Taper. We can suffer together in Charlottesville.

After the Al Lewis 10-miler in 2006 the swelling lasted for over a month and I couldn't run the half I was training for. I am just going to nurse it with all of my being.

We are going to be a pathetic sight!

OH NO!!!! At least your in the tapering mode... I've read about people who had great marathons even after thay got hurt in the final 3 weeks bf the race. Stay positive and really take it easy so you can heal. Cross train to keep your aerobic fitness with something that doesn't aggrevate the knee. You'll be ok!

What happened? It got swollen after the 21 miler or from something else? Think good thoughts!
